The Humming Bird was one of our first YardBirds' sculptures. Very popular then, these continue to be our most commissioned sculptures. The sparkling stained glass certainly attracts the humming birds. Add your own feeder and enjoy. When mounted properly these will hold small planters with ease.
This was in fact one of the very first sculptures using the YardBirds technique. We naturally wanted to test the structure's strength. It was dropped flat from about six feet to a concrete floor - no problems. A large truck tire rim was hung from the beak - surprisingly no problem. YardBirds' sculptures are very strong.

Hummingbirds drink nectar. Like bees, they are able to assess the amount of sugar in the nectar so they reject flower types that produce nectar that is less than 10% sugar. Nectar is a poor source of nutrients, so hummingbirds meet their needs for protein, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, etc. by preying on insects and spiders.
